SGA’s Men’s Artistic Junior Olympic program aims to develop disciplined, hard-working and successful gymnasts. Our goal is to provide each boy the opportunity to excel in gymnastics competition and realize athletic and personal successes through his gymnastics training. We follow the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic pathway and start competition at level 4 and compete all 6 of the men’s events: vault, pommel horse, parallel bars, high bar, rings and floor exercise (don’t think this is in Olympic order).
Gymnasts are placed into the Men’s JO program through development classes and/or upper level recreational classes.
There is an annual training commitment of 6 – 25 hours a week (depending on level) to be part of the JO team as well as additional financial expenditures and requirement to travel within the state of Washington and outside the state for competitions. The competitive season runs roughly November – May.
