The six-day competition is the national championships for acrobatic and rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, and it features competition on both Junior Olympic and elite levels.

The top 3 athletes at USA Championships are be named to the 2017-18 team. Athletes 4 through 6 may be chosen at the discretion of the Elite Program Committee. Aidan Casey secured his spot by posting an impressive score of 140.6 to win the Junior Elite division. Although Haydn Fitzgerald placed third at USA Championships, the Elite Program Committee noticed his consistency and progression through the year.
