Our women’s artistic team goes from Level 2 to Level 10 in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program. Our goal is to develop strong, self-confident, motivated and successful gymnasts with a strong foundation for future opportunities. Our USA Gymnastics certified coaches work with each gymnast to progress towards their objective through hard work and goal setting. We focus on developing a growth mindset by praising the process versus the outcome, as we believe that when you put in the work, the rewards are plentiful.
There is an annual training commitment of 6 – 25 hours a week (depending on level) to be part of the JO team as well as additional financial expenditures and requirement to travel within the state of Washington and outside the state for competitions. The competitive season runs roughly November – May.
We are committed to providing a progressive program that is successful while maintaining a positive environment. To help create this positive environment, SGA works closely with Tammra Bode, Mental Skills Consultant, on education through group games and lectures with the gymnasts, coaches and parents. We also have the gymnasts work with our in-house dance teacher to incorporate the necessary ballet and dance techniques required in artistic gymnastics.
