Camp Instructor – Lake City
A great role for anyone looking for seasonal, summertime work – perfect for high school or college students, or anyone looking for something extra during the summer! As a Camp Instructor, you will play an important role in keeping kids active and engaged during summer break, by helping guide accessible, gymnastics-based activity, and even dabbling in some fun crafts!
Summer positions begin in mid-June through end of August, for up to 40 hours per week. Candidates must have availability Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:15am-4:15pm for full time hours, or 8:15am-12:15pm for part time hours. This position is scheduled to go from July 11th-August 19th with an opportunity to continue employment in the fall, depending on availability.

SGA Camp Instructors are responsible for:
- Teaching basic gymnastics skills with a focus on confidence building, body control, and safety.
- Leading campers in conditioning, fitness games and activities.
- Maintaining constant supervision of the campers.
- Ensuring safety of all campers and staff by consistently enforcing rules.
- Acting as a role model for all campers.
- Communicating with SGA parents about their child’s progression in camp. Our coaches play a key role in their development as a child and as an athlete.
- Assisting in light cleaning and sanitation duties to keep our gyms fresh and ready for the next round of classes.
SGA is looking for:
- Basic knowledge or experience as a gymnast is great, but we train people from all backgrounds.
- Previous youth camp or childcare experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with both youth and adults.
- Enthusiastic about working with youth ages 3-10 years old – previous experience is preferred.
- Experience working in fast-paced, active environments .
- Ability to resolve any conflict or disagreements that may arise.
- Desire to promote a positive learning environment for every child.
