Last weekend was full of nerves and excitement for the North West Team Challenge. This is a special competition for level 4-6. They had two days of competition. The first day you had to qualify with the top 2 scores on each event throughout level 4, 5 and 6. The top 4 teams were invited back to the compulsory team challenge. During the finals, you only get 6 guys on each event and EVERY score counts. To add to the pressure, only one gymnast competed at a time so all eyes in the gym were on them. This made for a very intense experience and the boys handled it really well. Our boys ended up taking title of Compulsory Team Champions for the North West Challenge. Way to go boys! Some other great accomplishments for the team that weekend:
Level 4’s took 4th place team award.
Level 5’s took 1st place team award

Level 6’s took 2nd place team award

Our Level 7’s don’t have enough kids to qualify as a team, but Tom Young took 2nd place All Around and Logan Chynoweth took 4th All Around. Our Junior Development athlete, Shay Meseck-Schick took 3rd All Around three tenths of a point away from first place! Our Level 8 Hammet Lear, brought his All Around score up four whole points from his last meet and took 1st place All Around!

What an awesome weekend! Next up is State Championships. Good luck boys and keep working hard!
