COVID-19 Health & Safety Guidelines and Customer Requirements

Home COVID-19 Health & Safety Guidelines and Customer Requirements

At Seattle Gymnastics Academy, safety is our top priority. We care about those we serve: our staff, our customers and our community. We remain committed to providing a clean, safe and healthy environment for our gymnasts and their families.

Please review the below requirements and policies currently in effect at SGA, and required for visitor entry and gymnast participation.

    Requirements and Protocols
Conditions of Entry (gymnasts & visitors)
    Requirements and Protocols

In-line with the Department of Health, the State Superintendent and Seattle Public Schools, the below health & safety requirements are in effect at SGA:

    • While encouraged, masks are optional for gymnasts staff, and visitors. This said, everyone at SGA is expected to treat others with respect and kindness at all times, and this extends to mask choice. We will not tolerate bullying of any kind in regards to another person’s choice to or not to mask as everyone’s circumstances are different.
    • Exceptions to mask requirements: Any person that has been exposed to Covid, but is negative and not exhibiting any symptoms, will be required to wear a well-fitted mask for 10 days. If an exposure happens in the gym, everyone in the exposed group will also be required to wear well-fitting masks for 10 days following the exposure.
    • Please note the mask mandate is able to be lifted as King County has been categorized as a “LOW community level” area. If data changes for the worse, masks may again become required. You can read more about current county figures and risk level on the King County COVID-19 community level page (updated weekly), and on the CDC COVID-19 by County.
    • All participants and anyone entering the gym will undergo a quick health screening. This consists of a few verbal questions and a temperature scan to make sure everyone is healthy.
    • Hand sanitizer, sinks and disinfectant wipe stations are conveniently located throughout our facility.
    • Proof of vaccination / negative test no longer required as of March 1, 2022 due to the high level of vaccination status in the county.
    • Sick or symptomatic individuals (staff and gymnasts) are required to stay home until symptoms resolve and/or a negative test is received. If a gymnast is ill in class, parents / caregivers will be notified, and the child will be given a mask (if not already masked) and isolated from others until they are picked up. Staff who are interacting with the individual must also mask up.

SGA WILL HELP KEEP OUR COMMUNITY SAFE BY:

    • Enhanced cleaning and sanitization of high-touch surfaces are completed by SGA staff throughout the day to maintain cleanliness of all community areas and equipment.
    • Increased ventilation throughout the gym to allow for outside air circulation. Garage doors and windows will continue to be open as much as possible and exhaust fans will be used to keep fresh air circulating inside the facility. We also have MERV 13 filters in our areas with HVAC systems and individual units with HEPA filters in smaller areas.
    • We will continue to actively maintain distance as possible between gymnasts.
    • Our staff is, and will continue to be, fully vaccinated.
    •  We are still required to conduct contact tracing within our facilities. Please continue to inform us if your child is positive or has had a close exposure. Any positive person needs to remain at home for a minimum of five days, with a test recommended on day five. Use of a well-fitted mask will be required until day 10.
    • Exposure: SGA uses video review and attendance records to determine exposure. Exposure is still defined as coming within 6-feet with an infected individual for a total of 15-minutes in a 24-hour period. In cases of exposure, we follow guidance from the King County Department of Health and the CDC. You can read the CDC quarantine guidance for K-12 schools, here.
    • We also continue to closely follow the current protocols set forth by the State Superintendent for K-12 schools, child care, early learning, youth development, and day camp programs.

SGA will update our procedures and protocols accordingly as new information, recommendations or guidelines come out. The procedures and protocols set forth are subject to the guidance provided by the local and state health departments and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Conditions of Entry (gymnasts & visitors)

All gymnasts and visitors (in-facility viewing) are required to adhere to the below conditions of entry. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe & healthy!

    Daily self-screenings

We encourage all participants, visitors, and staff to perform a brief health self-evaluation to check for common symptoms of COVID-19 before entering any SGA facility, and to remain home if they believe they may be sick.

    Sick or symptomatic individuals

Visitors, staff and gymnasts are required to stay home until symptoms resolve and / or a negative test is received. If a gymnast is ill in class, parents / caregivers will be notified, and the child will be given a mask (if not already masked) and isolated from others until they are picked up. Staff who are interacting with the individual must also mask up.

Inform us if your child is positive or has had a close exposure.
Any positive person needs to remain at home for a minimum of five days, with a test recommended on day five. Use of a well-fitted mask will be required until day 10.

While encouraged, masks are optional for gymnasts, visitors and staff.
Exceptions to mask requirements: Any person that has been exposed to Covid-19, but is negative and not exhibiting any symptoms, will be required to wear a well-fitted mask for 10 days. If an exposure happens in the gym, everyone in the exposed group will also be required to wear well-fitting masks for 10 days following the exposure.

    Visitors entering the facility
We encourage visitors (this includes anyone who is not a gymnast or staff member) to maintain distance and wash or sanitize their hands upon entry. Visitor entry is optional and visitors are free to leave at any time.

Contact tracing for participants will continue
In cases of exposure, we follow guidance from the King County Department of Health and the CDC.
