Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) Coach – Columbia City
At Seattle Gymnastics Academy, we operate programs under three types of categories: Play, Learn and Compete. Our Compete program is intended for gymnasts who have already experienced and progressed in our Learn (recreational) program, and have shown interest and aptitude to advance to a competitive experience, and have a coach referral.
We are looking for qualified coaches to nurture and grow our competitive T&T (Trampoline & Tumbling) program at SGA. You will join a team of other supportive and well-established T&T coaches to help expand the growing popularity of this exciting gymnastics discipline.

T&T Competitive Coach responsibilities:
- Teaching progressive gymnastics classes in our Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) Program. Many of our instructors work in multiple departments, teaching a wide range of ages and levels, and T&T Coaches on the Competitive Team are likely to teach in our Learn (recreational) program as well.
- SGA Coaches must demonstrate a commitment to a safe, positive environment where our athletes can compete, develop, and flourish.
- Creating your own lesson plans and tracking skill development. We provide the resources, but you get to be creative in how you want to teach your gymnasts. We offer state of the art equipment – both on the gymnastics floor and technology- so you have the tools you need to be successful.
- Follows SGA Mission, Vision and Values
- Communicates to front desk and marketing regarding programming
- Continually assess program for success
- Markets / promotes program internally and externally
- Works with other site Program Directors on overall gym programming and consistency as well as curriculum development
- Communicating with SGA parents about their child’s progression in your classes. Our coaches play a key role in their development as a child and as an athlete.
- Participating in our paid training opportunities. This can include our SGA University courses, USA Gymnastics clinics, sessions offered by our in-house SGA trainers, and more
- Assist in light cleaning and sanitation duties to keep our gyms fresh and ready for the next round of classes
- Performs other duties as assigned
SGA is looking for:
- Previous experience coaching T&T, or as a high level gymnast is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of USAG Code of Points, USAG Safety Certification
- Ability to spot athletes safely and effectively
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with both youth and adults
- Enthusiastic about working with youth – previous experience is preferred
- Experience working in fast-paced, active environments
- Ability to resolve any conflict or disagreements that may arise
- Desire to promote a positive learning environment for every child
- Desire to grow and lead within SGA
- Must be available on weekends
