Celebrating Employee Ownership
October was Employee Ownership Month, and as an employee-owned company, we were up for a celebration with fun employee challenges and prizes!
Here’s some quick facts about our ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan):
- SGA first became an ESOP in 2012
- We became fully employee-owned in 2023
- Employees are automatically enrolled and it requires no cost or action by the employee, after they meet the eligibility requirements of:
- Being at least 21 years of age
- Completing one year of service
- Working 1,000 + hours
Currently 46 of out total 188 employees are part of our ESOP, with new members joining during each of our enrollment periods on Jan 1 and July 1 each year.
